Red Iron Design's pieces stand out. We pay attention to detail & aren't afraid to be creative with materials and elements. We like designing otherwise utilitarian items into one of a kind and unique pieces that have interest, beauty and of course functionality. Enchanting the ordinary & making things around our daily lives a little more beautiful.
We make things the hard way, by hand and don't cut corners. We could go into deep length on the subject but a picture is worth a thousand words. Take a look through our portfolio & see for yourself. We also stand behind our work and go to extra lengths to ensure our pieces will stand the test of time & in the context of metal work it's a long long time.
We start our projects with a complimentary consultation, from there a general design concept is prepared along with an estimate. With approval we require a 50% deposit & the project goes into final design & planning. Depending on the time of year we routinely book out finished lead times of up to 3 months (summer). Our lead times are simply guesses - it is impossible with custom work to pin point or guarantee a deadline. Considering the pieces will last a lifetime we believe it's worth the wait.

We aim to provide our clients with excellent customer service and skilled designs with the resulting projects encompassing quality, and craftsmanship.
Robert has been influenced since his childhood in the art of welding. His father Peter has owned and operated Pete’s Welding for over 30 years. Growing up in the shop led to Robert’s enrollment and completion of the Industrial Design program at Fanshawe College. He then spent many years traveling through Europe and Asia while absorbing the cultures and architecture. In 2008 he created Red Iron Design & through education, life experience and travels, Robert has developed a truly unique design approach as well as the skills to create quality and functional pieces.
Katie has been involved with Red Iron Design from the beginning tasked with marketing, website design and other behind the scene duties. Although she continues with these duties, Katie joined Robert full time in late 2010 to expand into sales and ultimately design. Trained at Fanshawe College in Interior Design Katie has transferred basic design principals and elements into the design of all the pieces Red Iron Design makes. She draws a lot of her inspiration from nature and classic and traditional architectural elements.
